All US citizens should demand that our country allocate its resources
toward wind power and away from coal power generation.

This is a brief table comparing wind vs. coal power

Right now, policy makers are making decisions on about the future of energy production in the United States and around the world. Now more than ever, citizens need to let policy makers know how important moving towards wind power is to our future. With enough support, we can help change the future of our planet.

The Environmental Protection Agency recently concluded that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases are a major hazard to Americans' health.  "In both magnitude and probability, climate change is an enormous problem (and) the greenhouse gases that are responsible for it endanger public health and welfare," said the EPA, concluding the dangers warrant action under federal air pollution laws (Herbert).               •      In 2007, wind accounted for 35% of new energy generation capacity, second only natural gas.
              •      In 2008, wind power usage avoided the production of 34 tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of taking 5.8 million cars off the road.
              •     Currently, wind power generates as much electricity as nearly 30 million tons of coal, or 90 million barrels of oil (Provey, 36).
